Adapted from “Kham Phiphaksa” (“The Judgement”), a 1985 SeaWrite award-winning novel by Chat Kobjitti, “Ai-Fak” is the story about Fak, a young Thai man who leaves the monkhood to care for his ailing father. When he returns home, he finds his father has married a much younger woman. She is very beautiful, but she is also mentally unbalanced. Then the father dies, leaving Fak to care for his insane stepmother. Soon Fak’s neighbors in this remote village are talking about him, saying he is sleeping with his stepmother. This rejection by the villagers sends Fak into a spiral of despair.

Uno is a story from inner-city Oslo about David, a twentyfive-year-old with few prospects for the future. His days are spent hanging around with petty criminals at an inner-city gym. Still, it’s better than home: His father is terminally ill, his brother is mentally handicapped, and he’s unable to connect with his mother.But then, as his father is on his deathbed, the gym is raided by the police. David chooses to betray his friends in the hope of reaching his father for a last farewell. But it’s too late. With his father dead and his mother grief-stricken, he’s also forced to take responsibility for his brother on top of fighting off his former underworld friends. The crisis makes David realize what’s truly important in his life: his family. He starts assuming responsibility for both his past and his future. By losing everything, David is given a chance to start over from scratch and rebuild his life.

Samir meets Chandrakanta’s daughter Ria and wife Manju, Ria and Samir gradually fall in love but Samir feels uncomfortable whenever he thinks that when everybody will come to know the truth that he is not Manik then what will happen. From his salary he maintains his own family and Manik’s family. Everybody is impressed with his behavior and honesty. Suddenly Niranjan and Latika come to Kolkata because Niranjan is unwell. Niranjan has lost his eyesight and there is some problem in his heart also. Samir tries to hide from Niranjan but every body comes to know the truth. Kartik Sen, the business rival of Chandrakanta, kidnaps Ria and demands ransom. Samir and Chandrakanta rescue her with the help of police. Samir donates his father’s eye to Niranjan. Niranjan gets back his eyesight.

She is forced to leave her father’s home because of her choice to give birth to the baby she is carrying. Apple runs away again, and is eventually taken under the wing of Father McCarthy (James Earl Jones), the chaplain of the local hospital after almost getting herself killed. He offers to let Apple live at a shelter for pregnant young women run by a spiritual woman named Kathy (Ann Dowd). It is here that Apple begins to tentatively interact with the other girls who are in the same predicament as she and gradually begins to make a family for herself.
