At the end of a late-summer trip in the Alaskan wilderness, four young backpackers find themselves stranded when their chartered airplane doesn’t show up. Hundreds of miles away from civilization and with the weather closing in fast, the reality of their situation hits home and they realize they need to take action. Their problems escalate when a member of the group is badly injured, seriously jeopardizing the group’s chances of survival. As the pressure of extreme weather and isolation begins to divide the group and they split up to find a way back to civilization, they must put aside their differences and band together to make it out alive in this tense and gripping drama filmed on location in Kodiak, Alaska.

The story about a few days in the life of truck driver Georgi seems to be a never-ending nightmare, a spiral of violence and abuses of power. A man goes to work and on his way he is sucked into the everyday madness of his country, losing his health and memory in the process.

A privileged British family consisting of a mother, a geologist father and an adolescent daughter and son, live in Sydney, Australia. While they walk through the Outback, sometimes looking as though near death, they come across an Australian boy who is on his walkabout, a rite of passage into manhood where he spends months on end on his own living off the land. Their largest problem is not being able to verbally communicate. The boy does help them to survive, but doesn’t understand their need to return to civilization, which may or may not happen based on what the Australian boy ends up doing.
