Mihir Shandilya is a multi-millionaire bachelor, who at a very young age is an icon of the new-aged India. A television channel invites celebrities for their programs, and Mihir is being interviewed. On being questioned on his potential life partner, Mihir confesses his love life on a record program that there is a woman in his life to whom he wants to propose marriage. The hosts respects his views and invites them for the show. Mihir, is on a business trip abroad, wants Julie to accept him as her husband and expects an affirmative answer once he is back. Julie is unnerved by the program, and want to be on the same program, and talk about herself to the viewers. She wants to confess that she is a prostitute, a fact that Mihir, and his family members are unaware of. Mihir was amused that his lover had confessed about her life so publicly, and after his initial indignation, had only one thing to say, ‘If you truly love then set it free because if its meant to be it shall come back to you’. Julie finally finds her true love that is willing to stand by her under any circumstances.

Madhavan is a lawyer and the breadwinner of his family. He finds it difficult to enjoy his married life as he struggles with his family’s financial and personal issues.

Dr. Sam Frizzell lives alone with his eighteen year old daughter Ariel Frizzell in the upper middle class Kitsilano neighborhood of Vancouver. Sam has dated little since his wife died when Ariel was a young child, he instead focusing his attentions on his daughter. With the exception of sex, Ariel has almost become a surrogate wife for Sam. Ariel, on the other hand, has taken that role one step further, she who has an Electra complex. Ariel has had behavior issues, in large part due to the circumstances around her mother’s death and the way Sam has treated her since. As such, she has no real friends and she is home schooled by a tutor – a young man named Markus who often cannot control his student – as she couldn’t function within a school environment. Into their lives comes Mary. As their third date, Sam thinks it would be a good idea for Mary to come to his house to meet Ariel. Mary’s already tenuous dating life takes a step backward when Ariel is openly hostile toward Mary over dinner, with the evening ending with Ariel physically assaulting Mary. The assault does not sit well with Julie, Mary’s sister who works as a topless boxer in a local bar. Like Ariel, Julie has anger issues stemming from her growing up period, with the boxing ring being what she believes her controlled her anger management outlet. Julie does whatever she feels she needs to both to get justice for her sister and to ensure that Mary is happy in whatever relationship she decides to embark.

Shankar Singh and his wife, Meera, live in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India along with widowed paternal grandmother, Laxmibai, his mom, Gowri, and dad, Randhir. The family feel that they are blessed after Meera’s entry in this family. Shankar must go and abroad in Saudi Arabia and bids farewell to Meera, promising to keep in touch, which he does, and also sends them a large portion of his earnings, which is used to pay off the family’s debts. Then when no word is received from him, a worried Meera phones, and is devastated to learn that Shankar has been killed by being thrown off a 10th floor balcony. Her status quickly changes, her jewelery, ornaments, fancy clothes are taken off, and she is told to remain indoors. wear dark clothes, and is only allowed to pray at a Mandir. Things brighten up for Meera when she befriends an Islamic woman, Zeenat, who has come all the way from Himachal Pradesh to look for her husband, Amir Khan. Shortly thereafter, Meera’s world is turned upside down when she finds out that her father-in-law plans to make her the mistress of a wealthy building contractor, Chopra, for a sum of Five Lakh Rupees; she endures further trauma when she finds out that Zeenat is the wife of the man who has been accused of killing her husband, is merely here to persuade her to sign a Mafi-Naama, which would ensure the release of her husband from the Saudi jails, and prevent his death. Hurt, humiliated and confused Meera refuses to sign this document, and is confined to a locked room by Randhir. It looks like Zeenat may lose her husband after all, and Meera may end up being Chopra’s temporary mistress.

He asks Shankru to leave the family and go on an exile. The remaining part of the movie is how the brothers unite and make Avinash aware of his mistakes.

Jacob Pederson lives in shanty surroundings in Bombay, India, and assists in the running of Anand Orphanage and School. With growing pressure on the facilities, which is on the verge bankruptcy, the orphanage receives an offer of funding from wealthy Danish citizen, Jorgen, which may put an end to its problems. In order to obtain the money, Jacob must travel to Copenhagen, meet with Jorgen, get financial assistance, and be back to celebrate Pramod’s 8th birthday. He sets forth, is received by Christian Refner, an employee and future son-in-law of Jorgen. Jacob is shown all possible courtesy and even housed in a posh apartment. He subsequently meets with Jorgen, shows him video-tapes and submits that a few Kroner could really save several lives which would otherwise succumb to minor illnesses and infections. Jorgen views the videos, but does not display much interest. He invites Jacob to attend his daughter’s wedding. Jacob does attend the ceremony, is introduced to Helene, Jorgen’s wife; the bride, Anna; and Jorgen’s twins – Martin and Morten. After the wedding ceremony, Christian makes a speech. Quite unconventionally, Anna also decides to make a speech – it is this speech that will shatter Jacob’s world, slowly make him realize that this invitation to Copenhagen was a ploy to not only ensnare him but also prevent him from returning to India.

In the few days under her father’s care, she learns she’s become pregnant by a kid from the streets she met on the train, who now wants nothing to do with her. She is forced to leave her father’s home because of her choice to give birth to the baby she is carrying. Apple runs away again, and is eventually taken under the wing of Father McCarthy (James Earl Jones), the chaplain of the local hospital after almost getting herself killed. He offers to let Apple live at a shelter for pregnant young women run by a spiritual woman named Kathy (Ann Dowd). It is here that Apple begins to tentatively interact with the other girls who are in the same predicament as she and gradually begins to make a family for herself.
