A young singer turns his back on God and his father’s church when tragedy strikes. He returns years later to find the once powerful congregation in disarray. With his childhood friend creating a “new vision” for the church, he is forced to deal with family turmoil, career suicide, and relationship issues that send him on a collision course with redemption or destruction.

Paper Boys

A ragtag bunch of teenage door to door salesmen wreak havoc and spread the news of their coming of age in this summer before they begin their college lives. It centers around Sean, a sexually confused and drug afflicted teen who just can’t seem to shake off his dysfunctional family history. Paper Boys is an adventure into the psychology of sales as a metaphor for life as these young “Glengarry Glen Ross” wannabes terrorize a suburban neighborhood near everyone!

El Calentito

Sara is a high-class girl overprotected by her hysteric mother. During a weekend, she goes to a pub called El Calentito wants meeting with Toni to lose her virginity, but Sara discovers Toni with other girl, and she drunks until being unconscious. At the next day, Sara wake up in the house of Leo and Carmen, two free-spirited low-class girls who are looking for a girl for her music punk band, Las Sioux, after that other girl, Chus, left the band. Since then Leo and Carmen have that same morning an interview with Ernesto, a music producer, they ask Sara helps them going with the two to the interview. Reluctant at the beginning, Sara finally accepts. When Sara meets Ernesto, she starts falling in love with him, thinking if he would the perfect man to lose his virginity. Discovering her own voice to sing, Sara accepts to be the new Sioux, hiding this fact to her family with the help of her best friend Marta, but in a party celebrated a few days later, all ruins: Carmen hook up with Marta, Ernesto seems to be interested in Chus and Ana, Sara’s mother, discovers the recent activities of her daughter, forbidding her continue with the band. Then Sara escapes from home and she refuges in the El Calentito helped by Antonia, transsexual own’s pub. Convinced by Leo and Carmen to return to the band, the girls get them first concert in El Calentito for a special date: Febraury 23, 1981. Despite the total opposition to her mother, Sara goes to El Calentito to play with Leo and Carmen, but just this day, a military group make a coup d’etat in the Congreso de los Diputados (Spanish Parliament), causing the chaos: Sara discovers that Ernesto wasn’t interested in Chus (who is lesbian and Carmen’s ex-girlfriend), that Ernesto is a con-artist able to treason anyone to get success, and that a ex Civil Guard neighbor has done his own mini coup d’etat in the pub. Meanwhile the country take the streets claiming against the coup d’etat and Antonia fights against the neighbor, Sara shrinks in a depression in the El Calentito’s store, but in this moment appears Jorge, Antonia’s son, with who she finds again the hope, having with him her long-time first sexual experience. Full of happiness, Sara returns to the stage with her friends to sing for life and freedom.

Adventures of Power

ADVENTURES OF POWER is an epic comedy about a mine-worker named Power whose love of drums and lack of musical skill has turned him into the ridiculed “air drummer” of his small town. But when Power’s union-leader father calls a strike at the mine, Power discovers an underground subculture of air-drummers who just might hold the key to changing the world. Power’s journey across America brings him face-to-face with his town’s greatest enemy, and allows him to discover the beat within his own heart.

Eternal bachelor Lupo plays the comical presenter to the musical acts in his own Italian restaurant ‘Serenade Café’ in New York, but operatic singer Gina is not amused, she throws him out of her dressing room- the more she insults him, the crazier the old fool gets about her. To keep him off she insists her husband must be an opera singer, so he is easily duped by Ierra, who hits on with Gina himself and ships Lupo off to his Italian cahoot, musical teacher Marcello, for lessons- actually he is so bad that even the dog runs off, and after they bribe the local opera to give him a tiny part, the sound-tortured audience chases him for his life. He passes out but is found and taken in by a winegrowers family, which gives him confidence and a killer voice…

Brass Tacks

‘Brass Tacks’ is a 35mm vérité feature length, narrative drama. The story captures the dilemma of gifted musicians turning music into a professional career without losing artistic integrity and soul. Shot on location in Atlanta, a group of young, hungry and diversely talented performers struggles to find the Promised Land of a record deal. Grueling days of blue-collar construction work fund their nocturnal pursuit of becoming full-time musicians. Confronted with the reality that Jazz has limited commercial appeal, the story focuses on the band’s battles with the music industry and one another to find respect and recognition without ‘selling out’.

Praise Band: The Movie

Imagine The Monkees meet modern praise and worship music. Add a dash of realism and drama, and you’ve got Praise Band. The funny, yet touching story of one band’s efforts in a small town church. Through their growing music ministry, the band not only reaches out to their community, but also grows in their own individual walk with God. Matt Young, the new worship leader, is hired by Pastor James Monroe to serve Crossroad Community Church. However, these young church leaders meet with much opposition from members of their congregation who still cling to traditional roots. Led by church treasurer Wayne Wilson, the congregation resist the idea of change and this new style of worship. Can Matt, along with band mates Mark Lewis, Luke Daniels and John Collins change the minds of this dwindling flock before it is too late? Praise Band – on Wednesday night they’re an average band, but on Sunday morning they’re praising God!
